I am incredibly grateful for the support provided by the Hope Fish Foundation, which enabled me to complete a Writing for Children course. The grant was used to cover the course fees (NZ$1,295) and essential materials such as notebooks and stationery (NZ$105).

Despite the challenges of recovering from a c-section and caring for my newborn, I completed the course with a 95% grade, working through one module a month during my baby’s first ten months. This course allowed me to refine my storytelling skills, broadening my skillset beyond screenwriting.

One of the most exciting outcomes is that I’m now in discussions with a publisher to adapt the story I developed during the course into a graphic novel. This opportunity would not have been possible without the insights and growth the course provided, and I am optimistic about the potential for this project to progress.

Beyond my personal achievements, I have shared my journey and the support I received with fellow writers and mothers, encouraging them to explore similar opportunities.
