Jemma Woodhouse

Jemma Woodhouse is a passionate youth advocate and emerging youth development practitioner currently studying toward a Bachelor of Youth Development. Her work is grounded in more than 15 years of volunteer leadership through Scouting, where she has supported tamariki and rangatahi through outdoor adventure, leadership development, resilience building, and youth-led learning experiences.

Throughout her journey, Jemma has worked closely with young people navigating neurodiversity, trauma, social isolation, and other complex challenges, developing a deep understanding of the importance of connection, belonging, and safe spaces for growth. Her passion lies in creating inclusive environments where young people feel genuinely seen, valued, and empowered to thrive.

The Hopefish support recognises Jemma’s commitment to transforming years of practical grassroots leadership into a professional pathway that can create even greater impact across Aotearoa. Through her studies, she is strengthening her understanding of youth work, wellbeing, and community development, while building the tools needed to advocate for and mentor future generations of rangatahi.

Jemma strongly believes in the ripple effect of investing in people who dedicate themselves to serving their communities. Her work reflects a future-focused commitment to youth empowerment, inclusive leadership, and helping young people build confidence, identity, resilience, and purpose. Through both lived leadership and ongoing education, she continues to create meaningful pathways for young people to flourish and lead within their own communities.
