Kylie Dellabarca Steel
Kylie is a producer, facilitator, and storyteller passionate about people, planet, and purposeful projects. Through her leadership in community-empowerment initiatives, international development, and award-winning media, she brings heart and vision to everything she creates.
Kylie’s latest kaupapa is Kids Unplugged – a family-led web series celebrating tamariki who are choosing the wild over wi-fi. Inspired by her own boys and the joy and wellbeing they’ve found in outdoor adventure, she’s creating this series as a resource offering a hope-fuelled narrative for tamariki, rangatahi, and whānau. Having lived for years with debilitating back pain and facing a medically incurable cancer diagnosis, Kylie knows how vital it is to nurture resilience and real relationships from a young age. Her heart is for children to grow up strong and courageous – not lost and lonely.
With growing concern about the impacts of excessive screen time and social media, Hopefish is supporting Kylie to produce educational content that models thriving young people and reminds us that wellbeing is grown in connection with each other and nature.
